Earthworm Puzzle

In the early days at Linchuan Monastery, the monks were working to build the Jade Buddha Hall. One day while digging the ground, an earthworm was found chopped in two, each half wriggling by itself.
The Master asked,
"Which end has the Buddha nature?"
All was silent.
