Applying the Dharma Everyday
As much as I want to be diligent both in work and in life, I can't resist the reality that I would sometimes still feel hate, resentment, and fear due to some inevitable situations. But, whenever I am in this situation, I always realize that our thoughts and emotions are impermanent that's why it happens. Through meditation, I purify myself, renew my consciousness, as well as keep in mind that I hurt myself more when I hurt others' feelings. I try to be more kind and compassionate to embody the Buddhist Way.
My journey in learning Buddhism for several years has somehow changed my views about living—that I should not dwell on the past or the future but should live in the here and now. Most importantly, I learned to continuously empty my cup of fear, doubt, and frustrations to live a happy life in the present. In addition, my lifestyle becomes healthier after I go more on vegetables, become more conscious of my schedules, and make sure to be punctual on my appointments. I am always thankful for the things that I have, and for the life filled with kindness I am enjoying accordingly.
To approach the inherent Buddha nature, I continue to meditate everyday for my mental discipline and always try to practice the Dharma in my daily life. I keep in mind the Four Noble Truths to cease my sufferings and dissatisfaction—no longings (e.g., reduced bonding with friends), no cravings (e.g., food), and no more desires for more than what I have. Lastly, the Eightfold Path—the ethical conduct I follow. I always guard my actions and speech to do no harm to others and to cultivate wellness in myself.
I will diligently practice Buddhism by continuously reading articles about the Buddha's teachings to further develop my true mind and potential.
